The end of the school year is approaching, which is an opportunity for students in HUD-assisted communities to continue their education outside the classroom. Throughout the country, HUD convenes a growing number of students for workshops focusing on STEM— Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math—through partnerships with STEM Innovation Networks and public housing agencies.

Transforming Lives with Summer Youth Job Opportunities

Two months of work can change a young person’s life. For Christopher, his summer job with the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO), through its Summer Employment Program, gave him the opportunity to gain experience, learn about affordable housing, build relationships with housing professionals, and awaken his interest in a public service career.
