HUD and the Council of Large Public Housing Authorities (CLPHA) are excited to announce the Going Green: Intelligent Investments for Public Housing Conference, has been rescheduled for July 13 – 14 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Towers in Boston, Mass.
Join me at the two-day gathering that will highlight how to make public housing more energy efficient and sustainable in its daily operations. The conference will include: cost-effective strategies to reduce energy and water consumption for housing operators and residents; discussions about sustainable construction; and building smarter with the latest energy efficient technology. Attendees will include public housing authorities, private energy sector groups, plus leaders in the green building movement.
Over the two days, attendees will hear from many in the energy arena, including landscape architect Tim Duggan from the Make It Right Foundation. This foundation was created by actor Brad Pitt to help rebuild homes devastated by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans’ lower Ninth Ward . Participants will also have the opportunity to see green building firsthand on a tour of Boston’s Maverick Landing, a HOPE VI development that was constructed using green building practices.
We regretted that we had to cancel the conference earlier this year; now we are excited to return with an agenda that we believe is worth the wait. Learn more about the Going Green Conference and registration information here.
