Today, the National Housing Conference held its annual policy symposium to discuss veterans’ housing issues as well as foreclosure prevention, access to mortgage credit and homelessness in Washington, D.C.
Speakers from Congress and the Administration included: Deputy Veterans Affairs Secretary Scott Gould, Sen. Johnny Isakson (R- GA), and Acting Asst. Sec. for Community Planning and Development Mark Johnston of the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development.
Two panel discussions on housing solutions focused on “Veterans’ Homelessness and Rental Housing” and “Foreclosure Prevention and Homeownership Preservation.”
Panelists included representatives from Habitat for Humanity, National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, Volunteers of America, National Alliance to End Homelessness, Wells Fargo, and Center for Responsible Lending.
