Two years ago, Secretary Donovan attended a ground breaking ceremony for the Via Verde affordable housing development in the Bronx.  Today, he went back to Via Verde to attend its ribbon cutting ceremony and to tour the completed units.

A model for what affordable housing ought to be, the 222-unit building was designed to achieve LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its innovative environmentally responsible design.
