Daily Housing News Round-Up

Written by:

The weather may have cooled off (slightly) but this housing news is hot:

HUD recently extended the deadline for applications to the Emergency Homeowners Loan Program.

Government help (including Recovery Act funding) has helped create a renaissance in the Bronx.

Not far from that success story, New York City is investing in improvements to public housing in Harlem.

Elsewhere in the Empire State, HUD officials toured new affordable housing in Yonkers.

Experts say the wind off of South Carolina’s coast could generate more than double that state’s energy needs if it was harnessed.

And in New Jersey, children thrive thanks to the community built around affordable housing.
