HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan was in Utah today, touring Salt Lake City and looking at the future of smart development around public transit.

After an investigation into allegations of pregnancy discrimination at Cornerstone Mortgage Company, HUD announced a settlement with the lender Wednesday.

In another part of its fight against discrimination HUD filed suit against Milwaukee-based MGIC, saying the mortgage insurer also practiced pregnancy discrimination.

And in South Carolina, housing authorities are helping connect residents with local jobs to build economic independence.
